Styled Icelandic Pony Shoot

This summer I had the opportunity to work with Birds of a Flower based in Woodstock, Vermont on a beautiful wedding.  Their work is so gorgeous and I was super excited when they asked me to participate in a collaborative fall shoot that involved the cutest little four-year-olds and Icelandic ponies.  I was certain that I’d need to rely on my experience photographing horses previously and my bag of tricks for the little ones.  However, it turned out that none of that experience was needed.  These two girls are the best of friends who love riding horses and the horses couldn’t have been more gentle.  The stone wall, nestled under trees adorning bright yellow leaves, was decorated with complementary florals, creating a magical place for the girls to romp and play with their ponies.  The day was so much fun and full of laughter.  Although I’ve never even been on a horse, it makes me want to be a little girl again and have a pony party for my birthday. I hope it does you too!

This collaboration was featured over on Beyond the Wanderlust.
